A Developmental Kindergarten

If you are thinking about giving your late birthday child a “gift of time” by waiting an extra year before beginning kindergarten… Think of Old Firehouse School!

We have a very small classroom of 11 or 12 children.

Our project approach is certain to stimulate your child’s desire to learn.

We believe that excitement about learning is the precursor to success in elementary school. Let your child spend a stimulating year in the nurturing environment of Old Firehouse School. You’ll never regret it.

Our Developmental Kindergarten Teacher: Stephanie Niera

I have been working in the childcare field for over a decade.  During this time, I worked at the Mills’s Children’s School in the infant/toddler room where I practiced Reggio Emilia theory, as well as taught kindergarten and second grade.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood from Mills College. My hobbies include sewing, photography, cooking and jewelry making.
